There are many expectations set on medically professionals socially and academically. Our process, therefore, tests for the relevant competencies necessary for medical professionals to fulfill these many expectations. Embedded in this, we aim for our admission process to be as inclusive as possible while still allowing us to get to know as many of you as possible.
1. SUBMITTING YOUR ONLINE APPLICATION
During the first phase, the candidates fill out a biographical questionnaire and prove that they fulfill the formal criteria for being admitted to an institution of higher education (i.e. a secondary school leaving certificate). The minimum requirement for us is that candidates have passed every subject taken in the school leaving certificate and failed none.
Upon our receipt of the 180 EUR application processing fee, your application will be reviewed and those applicants with complete applications will move into Phase 2.
2. TAKING THE ONLINE TESTS
The second phase of the admissions process consists of a short online test, which is provided by ITB Consulting GmbH. This test measures learning and general cognitive ability by means of mathematical, verbal, and visual-spatial material and it allows us to rank all applicants according to objective criteria.
The test will be conducted in English and takes approximately 45 minutes to complete. Please note that you may only take this test once, so only begin when you are ready.
It may feel like an exam, but at this time you should prepare for an opportunity to examine your own qualifications and suitability for the academic study of medicine. No specialized knowledge is required. Test results are evaluated with a view towards eligibility for the programme of study.
To take this test, you will need a computer or laptop with a stable internet connection. Please do not use your phone to take the test and make sure you do not get disturbed.
Upon successful completion of the online test and the evaluation of all test results, selected candidates will be invited to an online interview in the third phase of the application process.
3. MEETING US IN AN ONLINE INTERVIEW
If selected, candidates will move into the third and final phase of the admission process: The structured interview. These interviews are conducted by specially trained interviewers who assess the motivation and soft skills of our candidates.
This is the time where applicants and admissions have a more face-to-face opportunity to become more familiar with each other. After the interview, candidate results from the online test, and documentation, the best applicants will be invited to continue.
For all applicants who successfully passed through the three phases and upon EDU’s receipt of the application fee, the admissions committee will begin reviewing applications.
All applicants will be ranked on their overall application with the best candidates offered a place to study with us at EDU. Offers of acceptance can take up to ten weeks from when the last phase of the application process was completed and the application fee received. All applicant information will be delivered by October 15th 2018.
Upon being offered a place to study with us, applicants will be asked to pay a non-recurring non-refundable matriculation fee of 6.000 EUR. This fee serves as confirmation that the applicant will be studying with us and will be deducted from the first year’s tuition cost. When we have received the matriculation fee, our new student’s matriculation into the program officially begins.
This will involve receiving their unique student number, EDU email address, along with all other information pertinent to beginning their studies with us. Students will be introduced to their colleagues and the online learning environment, become familiarised with EDU’s visions for their students, and begin their learning journey.
The application deadline for Fall 2018 is September 30th. However, applications are open three times per year.
