We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our finance team. In this role, you will oversee EDU’s financial accounts, reporting, and budgeting activities. The ideal candidate has a demonstrated background in accounting (a minimum of two years in a similar role) with experience in preparing financial statements and managing budgets.

As part of this role, as Senior Accountant at EDU, you will also have a clear development path to becoming our Head of Accounting. This will involve taking on additional responsibilities and leading the accounting team to meet our company’s strategic goals and objectives.


The key responsibilities of the Senior Accountant will be the following:
  • Assist the Group’s CFO by timely transferring and managing business transactions into proper accounting data.
  • Support the internal departments by maintaining proper open item lists for creditors and debtors.
  • Communicate and manage external accountants and tax offices.
  • Active participation in the preparation of the annual financial statements and their auditing for the Group and its individual companies.
  • Management of tax provisions, returns and reports in the Group and its individual companies.
  • Issue and manage outgoing invoices & credit notes.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including educators, administrative staff, and other departments to ensure that programs are running smoothly and achieving desired outcomes.



As a Senior Accountant at EDU, the following education, skills, and experiences are needed or useful:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business studies with a focus on finance or vocational training in a commercial profession.
  • Demonstrated experience of a minimum of two years in a similar role.
  • Strong skills in supporting and preparing the creation of annual financial statements. 
  • Previous experience with reparation and submission of tax reports and declarations to authorities. 
  • Knowledge of Odoo Finance or comparable accounting programs. 
  • Very good knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel. 
  • Experience in group consolidation and IFRS – is an advantage.
  • Experience in auditing processes of annual financial reports – is an advantage.
  • Fluency in English and German.
